Laplwi

It rains with an urgent fierceness here. Big, fat and furious drops pelt down and you can almost hear the ground sigh with relief. The dust is beaten down for a little while at least. It is amazing how fast the ground dries up again It rains about half of the evenings now. Sometimes thunder as well. The landscape is noticeably greener than when I arrived and the flamboyant trees and bougainvillea are really blooming now. Haiti is a remarkably beautiful country for all it's struggles. There is such promise here amid the challenges. Just like it's people, who are so graceful in their perseverance in the face of so much adversity.
